Source Provenance

Arnold tracks where documentation came from and when it was last verified.

What is source provenance?

Every doc file Arnold creates includes provenance tags that track:

  • Who wrote it - Was it scaffolded by Arnold, written by a human, or extracted from code?
  • When it was created - Creation date
  • When it was last verified - The last time /arnold:check confirmed alignment
  • Confidence level - How specific and verifiable the claims are

Why it matters

Provenance helps you trust your docs. A doc that was verified yesterday is more reliable than one that hasn't been checked in a month. Arnold surfaces this information so you know what to trust and what to re-check.

🦕 Arnold says
Docs without provenance are just opinions. Docs with provenance are evidence.
